The Challenge

A ship-to-shore crane down for unplanned maintenance holds a vessel at berth, cascading into demurrage, missed sailings, and lost terminal slots. A failed baggage handling line reroutes thousands of passenger bags manually. A jet bridge taken out of service delays every turn at that stand.
Gulf conditions compound this: salt-laden air corrodes quayside equipment, sand ingress fatigues bearings, and temperatures exceeding 45°C shorten lubricant and elastomer service life. Standard OEM maintenance intervals were never calibrated for this environment.
